21.01.2010CareerConcept Education Funds Pay a Total of 250 000 Euros to Investors in 2009
Munich, 21.01.2010 - Investors of all CareerConcept education funds received a total of approximately one quarter of a million euros last year. This corresponded to up to about eight percent of their investment capital. "Asset class education has established itself with this development,\'\' says Rolf C. Zipf, director of the education fund pioneer. Since 2002, CareerConcept has been offering investment products in asset class education: "Education funds\'\' are closed funds in which the investor\'s capital is invested into financing the studies of selected students. The student pays back with a percentage of his income over a fixed period of time upon starting his career. The investors also then participate in the subsequent financial success of students. "Losses are practically not an issue because of our selection process: Depreciations amount to only 0.54 percent of the current total portfolio. Overall, we have recovered approximately three million Euros from the closed study assistance contracts up until now,\'\' says the education fund director. Because a course of studies normally takes several years, a large portion of the money is initially invested. Therefore, it naturally takes some time until there are significant returns. "Many of our funding recipients have opted for a postgraduate degree or a doctorate. They can do that without any problem at all since the repayment is purely dependent upon income and therefore the repayment is then postponed for prolonged studies - our study financing functions purely according to income, without a fixed debt burden," says Zipf. But this also means that the investor can tend to expect higher returns in cases of higher income or promotion.
CareerConcept (www.career-concept.de) is the "inventor" of privately-funded education funds (www.bildungsfonds.de) - also known as study funds - in Germany. Companies, foundations and private investors invest capital in funds which finance selected students in their studies. Upon completion of studies and beginning his career, the student receiving assistance pays back a portion of his income back into the education fund in order to ensure student financing for the upcoming generation. This is a contrast to student loans which must be paid back even in cases of unemployment. CareerConcept works with several universities and colleges, assists thousands of students and is supported by notable investors who are committed to financial yield as well as to academic studies in Germany.
